INTER HOUSE SOLO DANCE COMPETITION II MIDDLE WING II

 “The great dancers are not great because of their technique; they are great because of their passion.”

With the aim to celebrate the International Dance Day, an Inter House Dance Competition was organized in the Middle Block for the classes VI, VII & VIII. All the houses participated with great zeal & enthusiasm. The participants set the stage on fire with their energetic dance moves & costumes. Overall the competition was a great event and saw some beautiful performance which mesmerized everyone. Beas House emerged as the winner house in the inter house competition.

INTER HOUSE COMPETITION OF HOUSE BOARDS ||PRIMARY WING||

To inculcate a spirit of healthy competition and sense of belongingness the entire school community is divided into four houses i.e. Beas, Ravi, Sutlej and Yamuna. Various inter house competitions are held on a regular basis to promote all round development of BCMites. Each house has been given a display board which reflects the information about the respective house and creativity of its mentor, teachers and students. An Inter House competition was conducted for the House Display Boards. All the four house boards were decorated with some theme.

Beas House (Ms. Rachna) was judged as the best house board.

The second best position was bagged by Sutlej House (Ms. Rimpi)

FRESHERS PARTY ||NURSERY||

BCM Kindergarten organized a Fresher’s Party  for the  nursery  kids.  It was a carnival like environment in the campus. Children dressed up in colourful dresses were vibrant with energy and enthusiasm. They tapped their feet on the peppy songs and enjoyed their favourite food items in the company of their friends. The whole campus was tastefully decorated

EARTH DAY CELEBRATED|| KG||

To teach children about the importance of ‘Earth Day’ varied activities were conducted  in  the KG section of  B.CM School Sec -32A on April 21, 2018. Kids of Nur. enjoyed pasting the picture of earth in their drawing notebooks. L.K.G kids using balloon impressions to make globe on sheet. Kids of U.K.G drew & coloured the model of earth. Teachers familiarized the students with the shape of earth by demonstrating globe in the classes. The teachers also acquainted them about the harmful effects of polythene bags & guided them to avoid using polythene bags.

WORLD BOOK DAY || PRIMARY WING ||

It is rightly said that books are our best friends. To inculcate the habit of book reading in the students and to tell them the importance of books in our lives, World book day was celebrated. In class I teachers read out moral based stories. In classes II and III students enjoyed reading and listening stories. Class IV and V students participated in News Paper reading activity in zero period. They were guided about the importance of reading with proper pronunciation and fluency.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION II MIDDLE WING II

Earth Day was celebrated to raise the awareness among students and to give a tribute to the Mother Earth in Middle Wing. Eco Club & Work Exp. Club organized Mask Making (VI), Model Making (VII) &PPT Making (VIII) activities in Zero period. Students prepared eye- catching models and masks of  earth. All the students participated in these activities with full exuberance. The best entries were chosen from classes VI, VII & VIII and winners were awarded with certificates.

World Earth Day & World Astronomy Day || PRIMARY WING||

With the motive that every day should be Earth Day, “Eco Club” carried out awareness activities for the students of classes I to V. They were sensitized about the importance of saving environment through different activities. Classes I, II and III participated in a Model Making Competition. Students prepared eye- catching models having a message to save Mother Earth.

To celebrate World Astronomy Day and to make the students aware of the wonders of space display boards of class IV were decorated with the theme “Solar System” and display boards of class V were adorned with the facts about “Famous astronauts”.

WORLD HERITAGE DAY II PRIMARY WING II

BCM always endeavors to inculcate in young learners a passionate love and attachment towards  the country’s opulent cultures and heritage. For the same World Heritage Day was celebrated in Primary Wing. A Collage Making Competition on the topic Heritage Sites of India was conducted for the students of class IV and V. Students were divided into four groups according to houses for collage making. One best entry from each class was selected. A Heritage Quiz on the theme ‘Our Rich Heritage’was also organized for the members of Quiz Club. Students were divided into four teams. The quiz consisted of five rounds. The students learnt something beyond their books and participated in the quiz enthusiastically.

World Heritage Day was celebrated in middle wing. The students participated enthusiastically and prepared wonderful models of various heritage sites. Students were educated about protection, preservation and propagation of world heritage sites.

BAISAKHI CELEBRATED ||KG||

To introduce tiny toddlers with the vivid & rich culture of Punjab, Baisakhi festival was celebrated with great fervor in BCM Kindergarten Sec -32A Chandigarh Road.  Students of LKG clad in Punjabi attires walked on the ramp and competed with their peers for the coveted titles i.e “ Sohna Gabru “ & Sohni Mutiyaar’’. The winners received certificates as prizes & participants received books as appreciation for their efforts.Kids of Nursery & UKG danced to the tunes of Punjabi numbers and got coloured in the hue of this festival. Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria wished everybody a very happy Baisakhi and said that celebration of such festivals is required to keep our culture alive.

WORLD HEALTH DAY ||KG||

Healthy mind lives in a healthy body and to spread the awareness among the little BCMites, Kindergarten Section of BCM School celebrated ‘World Health Day”. The kids brought sprouts in their lunch boxes and relished eating it in the company of their friends during their lunch break. Teachers, through different stories,  told the children about the benefits of eating fruits & vegetables.

BAISAKHI & AMBEDKAR JAYANTI CELEBRATION II PRIMARY & MIDDLE WING II

To keep up with the tradition of celebrating all the festivals with great fervor and gaiety, the students and staff members of BCM School Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana celebrated Baisakhi with great zeal and enthusiasm & paid tribute to the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre victims through a plethora of activities. Apprising the children of their rich culture, heritage & history, all the students participated in One Act Play, Poster Making, Event Description, Songs on Baisakhi & Slogan writing activities. BCM School is always keen in making BCMites excellent in each aspect. Students also paid tribute to the Father of Constitution; Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.And remembered the great contribution of Dr. Ambedkar in the Constitution of India through Biography Writing & PPT presentation.  The day started with a special morning assembly. Students gave the speeches on Jallianwala Bagh Massacre and explained how that massacre became a turning point in the history of India’s struggle for freedom. On other hand they recited the poems to narrate the beauty of harvest festival, Baisakhi. The whole school came alive with different performances. Speaking on the occasion, The School Principal; Mr. D.P. Guleria congratulated the students & staff members & also paid honor to the Dr. B.R.Ambedkar.

To make the students aware about the good health and hygiene an activity on ‘Health and Hygiene’ was organized in Middle Section .The activities, lecture & Demonstration on “Good Food Habits” and “Avoid Junk Food” were organized. Students were made aware about the importance of good health & personal hygiene through these activities.  These all activities were systematized by the Health Club Members. The main motto of activity was to make the students aware about the harmful effects of Junk food &  advantages of  fruits, green leafy vegetables.

On 27th March 2018, the KG Section of BCM School Sec -32 A Chandigarh Road adorned spiritual ambience with the chanting of sacred mantras to welcome the new entrants of Nursery. It was the day when President Mr Vijay Munjal, Mrs Rekha Munjal, School Principal Mr D.P Guleria, , elite guests, teachers & parents sought the blessings of  the Almighty for the tiny tots on their first step in the journey of education . Principal Mr. D.P. Guleria in his address thanked the parents for their reflecting faith in the school by selecting BCM for their wards. He also guided the parents to be a role model for their children as they learn many things from observation only. Manager Mr. S.K Mehta in his words assured the parents of quality education & unmatchable facilities for the children in the school. The students of Nursery, L.KG & UKG stole the show by giving their meticulous performance while conducting the event. One and all appreciated the students for their excellent oratory skills.

CALLIGRAPHY COMPETITION ||UKG||

Calligraphy is known as an art of stylish handwriting. On February 19, 2018 ‘Calligraphy Competition’ was organized for UKG classes in BCM Kindergarten Chandigarh Road Ludhiana. The main objective of the competition was to motivate the children to write neatly in good handwriting and make children more particular about the curves and shapes of different alphabets. All the students of different sections of UKG enthusiastically took part in the competition. The winners were given certificates and the participants were given books as souvenir.

ATHLETIC MEET || KG||

Around 1200 students from the classes Nursery, LKG & UKG enthusiastically took part in the 6th Annual Athletic Meet. The tiny tots holding different colour flags and marching together gracefully won appreciation of the audience. The cultural items to embellish the events on different days captivated the hearts of the parents acting as an audience. The tastefully decorated ground was a feast to the eye of beholders. The children enthusiastically took part in varied events like-Passing the tunnel Race, Get ready for the party race, Ice-cream race, plant the sapling race and many others. The winners & participants were honoured with the medals. Principal, Mr D.P. Guleria in his address appreciated the efforts of students and teachers and stressed on the need of games and sports in today’s life. The event reached to the culmination with National Anthem.

GK QUIZ ||LKG||

BCM KG  Section organized  a quiz contest for the students of LKG class to stimulate the knowledge of students and to foster a healthy  competition  among the students . The five teams comprising of 4 students duly titled  Master minds ,Mind Bogglers ,Free Thinkers , Quiz Magicians , Bright Sparks  competed with  each other .The quiz was divided in seven rounds  i.e General Awareness Round , Lets Arrange , Audio-Visual round , Rapid Fire Round giving a tough competition to each other. Master minds clinched the title of winners while mind bogglers team stood second and free thinkers team stood third .The audience comprising of parents of the participants were elated to witness their child’s performance.  Winners were given trophies and books were given to the participants by the Headmistress of school.

HAVAN AT BCM SCHOOL FOR CLASS TENTH STUDENTS

BCM School, Chandigarh Road organized a sacred Havan Ceremony in the school premises. The students of Class Tenth along with their teachers poured holy offerings into sanctified fire amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras. The havan, though a regular & routine feature of the school activities, today was especially dedicated to seek blessings of Almighty for the students of Class Tenth who are soon going to aspire for their Board Examinations scheduled to be held in the month of March. The teachers from music department of the school sang melodious and inspirational hymns after the havan. The School Principal, Mr. D.P.Guleria, while talking to the students, encouraged them to put their best efforts in preparations and give their best performance in examinations to meet the expectations of their parents and the school. The School Manager, Shri S.K. Mehta blessed the students and wished them great success in forth coming examinations.

BCM KG Section organized a Quiz Contest for the students of Nursery class to stimulate the knowledge and to foster a healthy competition among the students. The four teams comprising of 3 students competed with each other. The quiz was divided in seven rounds i.e. General awareness, Visual Round, Rapid fire round, Lets arrange etc. They out performed each other to become the winners. The audience comprising of parents of participants were elated to witness their child’s performance. Trophies were given to the winners and books were given to the participants by the Headmistress.

 Basant Panchmi  was celebrated  in KG section  on  22nd January 2018. Children came in yellow attire and with yellow food.  On this occassion  kite making  activity  was conducted for LKG  class. Teachers told them about the importance of Basant  Panchmi .Kids  tapped their feet  on the foot taping  numbers .

BCM STUDENTS PAY HOMAGE TO THE FATHER OF NATION

MORE THAN 6500 STUDENTS OF BCM SCHOOL PAY HOMAGE TO THE FATHER OF NATION

To pay honour and homage to the Father of Nation who was assassinated on 30 January 1948, a special morning assembly was conducted in BCM School Sec 32-A, Chandigarh Road Ludhiana. The students recited favourite bhajans of Gandhji like “Sabarmati Ke Sant Tune Kar Diya kamal”, “Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kehiye”, “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram”, which drenched the whole atmosphere with gratitude to the Father of Nation. 6500 students observed silence for two minutes at 11:00 am to pay respect & homage to the Father of Nation and other freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives during the journey of freedom. The students also delivered speeches highlighting the Gandhiji’s ideals of Satya, Ahimsa & Bhaichara. They also took a pledge to make Hindustan a better country to live in. The School Principal along with staff members paid homage to the Gandhiji & suggested the students to follow his principles of non-violence, self-dependence and even cleanliness.

The ability to recognize & describe   shapes is a fundamental skill  that provides a foundation  for more advance skills. Keeping the same in mind BCM KG Section organized a shapes week for Nursery  class where the kids brought food matching the different shapes on the day decided for it. Teachers showed the kids different types of models and the tiny tots  accordingly filled the colors in different shapes.

Lohri was celebrated with a lot of exuberance & fanfare in BCM Kindergarten, Sec-32A. The liitle BCMites came to the school dressed in colourful attires and were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri. To make the day more vibrant a kite making competition was organized for UKG Class. Teachers acquainted the students with the importance of festival. Kids had a gala time as they danced around the holy bonfire & offered the prayers for the prosperity of the nation.

BEAS HOUSE LIFTED THE WINNING HOUSE TROPHY AT BCM SCHOOL 32-A

In BCM School Sector 32-A an Inter–house Play Competition was organized for the students of Middle Wing on 17 January 2018 in Mata Thakur Devi Hall. The houses chose their theme keeping in mind the current social issues. All the acts were thought provoking & left a remarkable impact on the audience. While Beas House addressed the issue of ‘Corruption’ , Ravi House ‘Say no to Dowry’, Satluj House ‘Begging a Curse’  & Yamuna House showed the concern to the ‘Child Labour’ with the enactment. From each enactment it was visible that they have put in lots of energies & hard work. The audiences were enthralled with the performance of each house & appreciated them. The judges appreciated the efforts of each house & further added that winning and losing are the two sides of life but if one takes both in positive sense then only one can emerge as a winner. The students of  Beas House walked away with the First prize. Audience congratulated the winning house with a thunderous round of clap. The School Principal, Mr. D.P.Guleria applauded the efforts of the students & remarked that inter house activities allow each member of house to feel a sense of responsibility to give one’s best.

BCM SCHOOL WELCOMES  SPRING SEASON WITH THE CELEBRATION OF LOHRI

The famous Punjabi festival Lohri, also known as the ‘Festival of Harvest’ was celebrated at BCM School Sec-32 with a lot of exuberance and ballyhoo. The festive spirit of Lohri began by creating awareness among the students about the significance of the most – awaited Punjabi festival in Special School Morning Assembly through Lohri Songs, poems & Speeches. The students sang the famous folklore of Punjab related to Lohri ‘Sunder Munderiye’ with full joviality. Through the speeches the students were made aware about the festival which ushers the cheerful spring season bidding adieu to the dull winter season. The students relished themselves by bringing traditional winter foods like sarson ka Saag & Makki ki roti, Til(Sesame), rorhi(Jaggery) . The students had a gala time as they danced around the holy bonfire & offered their prayers for the prosperity of nation.  The students were attired in the traditional dresses and were totally absorbed in the festive spirit of Lohri.The whole day was a scintillating bonanza of traditional culture and heritage. The students as well the staff members enjoyed this celebration of festival with full gaiety & enthusiasm. The School Principal, Mr. D.P.Guleria said that Lohri festival prompts people to be thankful for God’s provisions and to celebrate His creations.

To improve communication & descriptive skills of children a ‘Show  and Tell ‘ competition  was  organized for class Nursery in BCM kindergarten on  17th December 2017 . It was indeed a contest  which  unfurled the smartness ,agility and intelligence of the tiny tots . Kids exhibited their confidence  and articulation skills while speaking on the topics like –Doll, car , save trees etc. Ms BinduSood &  respective class teachers judged the competition . The winners of the competition were  awarded with  certificates & books.

  Story   telling   competition  was    organized for UKG class  in  B.C.M  Kindergarten  Sec-32 A Chd. Road. This   competition  provided  ample   opportunity   to   the   kids   to  showcase  their   narrative   and   descriptive   skills. The   participants   exhibited   their   confidence   while    narrating   different    stories    like    Tenali  Rama’s - The    magical numbers, Honest woodcutter   value   of  things  etc.  The   students    used   different    props   and   charts   to  make  the   stories   lively.  The   winners   of  the   competition  were    given  trophies  and   books   were   given  as   souvenirs were   given  to   the   participants.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATED ||KG||

BCM Kindergarten Celebrated   Christmas with full enthusiasm. The day started with a true massage of Christmas to the students i.e. love, peace, joy, forgiveness and spirit to serve people around them. Tiny tots clad in the costumes of Santa Clause, Angels & Fairies looked beautiful. Kid filled the colors in the picture of Christmas tree. Kids even tapped their feet on tunes of Jingle Bells.

CHRISTMAS FERVOR || PRIMARY WING ||

Christmas is the perfect time to celebrate the love of God and to create memories that last forever. Christmas is not a time or a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. The festival of Christmas was celebrated with great zeal, gaiety and enthusiasm at BCM School, Chandigarh Road.  A special assembly showcasing Nativity was put up by the students. The children apprised everyone with the twelve day long tradition of Christmas celebrations. Carols echoed in the campus.  The students shared the background of the existence of Santa Claus. The whole campus was adorned with Christmas decorations- the Christmas trees, Caricature of Santa Claus and beautifully created Christmas scenes. Amazingly beautiful Wreaths made by Class V students added to the merry spirit of Christmas. Mr. D.P.Guleria, Principal, BCM School, Chandigarh Road greeted everyone; he congratulated the students for putting up an incredible show. He gave the message of being happy and enjoying the Christmas days with family and friends.
