With a motive to acquaint the parents with the accomplishments & achievements of the UKG & LKG students during the session 2017-2018 “An Open Class Room Presentation“ was organized in Kindergarten Section. The children mesmerized the parents acting as an audience with their confidence & oratory skills. The slew of events managed at their own by the students left the spectators spell bound. The demonstration of telephonic conversation, lemonade making, table manners and conversation between doctor & patient were appreciated by one and all.
OPEN CLASSROOM PRESENTATION || LKG & UKG ||
Aweek-long ‘Ganit Week’ celebrations flagged off in BCM School, Chandigarh Road from 16th December to 22nd December in view of commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr Srinivasa Ramanujan, and in order to drive away the maths phobia and to help students see maths-learning in a new perspective. A host of events were organized in BCM School, Chandigarh Road, with children from classes 2to 5 and 6 to 8, put in different categories and activities, conducted according to their age group. The junior category children took part in activities related to the concept of Fractions, Study of angles in different objects, Perimeter and Area through drawing of irregular figures and Indian Currency and facts related to it. The higher category students took part in a portrait making competition in which they made portraits of Dr Srinivasa Ramanujam . In another activity they were made acquainted with importance of Math in daily life and Fun with shapes. Apart from these activities students were also made familiar with Ramanujan’s number i.e 1729. This was a non routine way of getting learners involved in Mathematics activities. The aim of the event was to infuse spirit of innovation and the aptitude towards the subject of mathematics and also to increase the scientific temper.
GANIT WEEK CELEBRATED ||PRIMARY WING||
The Kids of BCM Kindergarten organized Fruit Chat activity for ukg class on 18 december 2017. The event was planned to develop healthy eating habits among the children . Little BCMites assisted their teachers in making chat with a varity of fruits like banana, apple , papaya, etc . All the children relished the chat . This activity also gave them a golden lesson of helping their mothers at home . It was really a wonderful experience
FRUIT CHAAT MAKING COMPETITION || UKG ||
Calligraphy is known as an art of Stylish hand writing. On 13 December 2017 calligraphy Competition for LKG Class was organized in BCM Kindergarten Sec.32A Chd. Road. 20 Short listed students competed with each other. Mrs Kiran Malhotra judged the competition. Winners were given the Prizes by the Headmistress of school.

BCM School, Chandigarh Road became the proud host of Avantika, Dr. Radhakrishnan Samman (For Principals) Ceremony. The Award Ceremony was organized in Mata Thakur Devi Hall where the Principal of BCM School, also Director LSSC, Mr. D.P.Guleria was conferred with the prestigious award. Nearly 12 other Principals of the reputed schools of the city, including Dr. Paramjit Kaur (BCM Arya), Dr. Vandna Shahi (BCM Basant Avenue), Mrs. Poonam Dogra (Bal Bharati), Ms. Nupur Nutan (DCM Presidency), S. Karnail Singh (GGN), Mrs. Mona Singh (GNPS), Ms. Harmeet Kaur Waraich (Nankana Saheb), Mr. Yogesh Gambhir (DRV DAV Centenary) were also honored with the award.
The momentous event commenced with the lighting of the lamp amongst echoes of Gayatri Mantra. The founder and National Director of Avantika, Dr. Anand Agarwal, while addressing the elite gathering explained mission and vision of Avantika Group that has attained an all India status with more than 600 centers all over India. The group organizes variety of co-curricular activities like essay & painting competition, dance, song, debate competition, national integration camp, medical camp, awareness programs etc. and also sponsors international tours for under privileged children; providing them a platform at National and International levels.
Mr. Guleria extended his gratitude to Avantika and thanked the Principals mentioning their distinctive roles played in the development of the society and country.The function concluded on a very positive note with National Anthem.

In the Painting Competition 2017 organized by The Tribune ,Pawani (VIII-E) bagged 2nd position & I-Ball Tablet. In the same competition Aasma (VII- D) and Manya (VI-B) bagged Consolation Prize and a coloring kit of Fabre Castel.
PAINTING COMPETITION - 2017 BY THE TRIBUNE, AT HERO HOMES, SOUTH CITY
Rash driving , frequent accidents and open violation of traffic rules put a big question mark on the safety of life on roads and this chaotic Scene makes it mandatory for educational institutions to aware the children at very young age of the rules of traffic . Realizing the responsibility B.C.M . K.G. section organised an activity of road safety for the tiny tots of L.KG. The students were intimated about the different rules eg : Always move on the left hand side , ensure to wear seat belt in car , follow the traffic lights ,use the pedestrian crossing to cross the road , open the door of the car carefully , not to take hand out of the window of a moving vehicle etc. The teachers demonstrated these though the well planned activity in the school campus .
TRAFFIC RULES ACTIVITY ||LKG||
BCM Kindergarten, sec.32A, organised ‘Button Tucking’ & ‘Shoe Lacing activity’ for the students of UKG. The aim of this activity was to make the kids self-reliant. The teachers in their class-rooms first of all gave the demonstration of tying the shoe laces and tucking the buttons of shirt. Children really enjoyed doing these activities.

Origami competition was organized for LKG class in B.C.M Kindergarten Sec -32 A . The aim of this competition was to develop creativity among students . Kids exhibited their great ideas and lovely creative skills by skillfully folding & cutting the paper with their deft hands . The competition was judged by Ms Upasana & Ms Bindu Sood.Winners were given certificates and participants were given books as a souvenir by the Headmistress Ms Pragati kapoor.

Beauty is the realm of the poetry , the children enjoy the beauty of expression , thoughts, feelings, rhythm and music of words .Taking all these facts into considerations the kindergarten section of B.C.M school organized “ English Rhyme Recitation competition” for the students of Nursery . The participants used attractive props to make their performance eye catching and lively . Mrs Pragati kapoor Headmistress of the school appreciated the winners by giving away the prizes.
ENGLISH RHYME RECITATION COMPETITION ||NURSERY||
As per the guidelines of DC Office, Ludhiana, on November 18, 2017,about 300 students and 50 teachers of Senior Secondary Section of BCM School ,Sector 32A took ‘Oath of Road Safety’ with an objective to create awareness among the students about the need &importance of road safety. The oath highlighted the need to be cautious, vigilant and sensitive while in traffic as little negligence on our part can cause huge harm to our lives and to the lives of others. Another objective of the event was to remember and pay tribute to the road traffic victims. The students realized the preciousness of human life and resolved to follow safety norms while driving and spread the same message among the masses.

Kriti Singh Behl of class VIII-B brought lauresl to the school by bagging First position in the activity Yuva Sampadak organized by Dainik Jagaran Newspaper . She was awarded with certificate & Tablet at Guru Nanak International School on 8 November, 2017.

Hindi Articulators’ Club of Middle Wing organized ‘Kavya Goshthi’ for the classes VI, VII & VIII on the topics- Prakriti , Dharmik Parv , Rashtriya Parv respectively .Students enthusiastically participated in this activity. B.C.M. Kindergarten Sec -32 A Chd. Road organised a seminar for the class IV employees of the school to make them aware of issues related to safety of the students . It was conducted by the school counselor Dr. Renu Gupta. She guided the class IV employees to impart their duties ethically & morally and be a helping hand in giving a safe and conducive environment to the tiny tots.

The students of classes IV-VIII participated in TERI Green Olympiad. The questionnaire included the questions related to environment. The main objective of this Olympiad is to make awareness about save environment & save life.

The festival of Diwali was celebrated in B.C.M Kindergarten Sec-32 A Chd. road with great enthusiasm. The children attired in colorful attires added vitality to the day. The little BCMites hailed Deepawali by enthusiastically taking part in Diya & Candle decoration activity planned for the day . The participants showed the creativity to their best and made the judgment an ordeal for the teachers activiting as judges . The teachers also told the students about the relevance of this festival & advised them to have green & safe Diwali . The Prizes were given to the winners & books as souvenirs were given to the participants by the Headmistress Ms. Pragati Kapoor. Mr. D.P. Guleria, Principal BCM Senior Secondary School congratulated the students and wished them a happy and safe Diwali.

A Story telling competition was organized in B.C.M Kindergarten Sec-32 A Chd. Road for the students of LKG. This competition provided ample opportunity to the kids to showcase their narrative and descriptive skills. The participants exhibited their confidence while narrating different stories like Tenali Rama’s- magical numbers, Honest woodcutter, Value of Things etc. The students used different props and charts to make the stories lively. The winners of the competition were given trophies and books were given as souvenirs to the participants.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness. So it is a habit which must be inculcated among the kids. Personal hygiene and cleanliness go side by side. Keeping all the things in mind activity of hand washing was carried out in BCM Kindergarten, Sec 32A, Chd Road. Children were made aware of the reasons responsible for hands getting dirty which are the real cause of different diseases. Teachers taught the different steps of washing hands and showed the kids the importance and steps by using audio visual methods.

October 11 is celebrated as ‘International Girl Child Day’ since 2012. It is celebrated to call attention towards the different issues faced by the girls under 18 years of age. One of the main goals of International Day Girl Child is to help every girl in the world have the same rights to education, nutrition, medical care etc. To make the students aware of the day and its importance ‘A Poster making Competition’ for class IV and ‘A Declamation Competition’ for class V was organized. Students spoke out against the unfair treatment given to girl child around the world. Through the posters students gave a message to save girl child to save humanity.

To inculcate the good habits of hygienic living practices integrated with values & ethics of care for nature BCM Kindergarten Sec -32A organized activity “Clean India Green India” for the classes LKG & UKG .
To fulfill this motive the teachers guided the young ones to make the proper use of dustbins and motivated them to keep the surroundings clean by throwing the garbage in the dustbin only. The teachers also told them that trees are man’s best friends and students planted different saplings in the school garden.

107 students from classes I to V participated in G. S. Memorial Event conducted by Jesus Sacred Heart School, South City on Oct 6 and Oct 7. Students brought laurels to school by bagging prizes in different categories. Students showcased their talent in Atheletics, Art, Dance, G.K. Talk Show, PPT Presentation and Cultural Aerobics etc. students from more than 35 schools of the city participated in the event. BCMites proved themselves and were able to stand ahead of all schools by bagging overall second position. It was a proud moment to cherish.
BCMITES SHONE IN INTER SCHOOL COMPETITIONS
Keeping the festive spirit alive B.C .M Kindergarten, Sec-32 A, celebrated Dussehra with great enthusiasm and energy . A special Assembly was organized on the day where the kids spoke about the importance of the festival. A movie was shown to the depicting story of Lord Rama and Ravana. Students took part in different activities eg. kids of nursery and L.K.G filled colours in the picture of Ravana whereas students of UKG drew the pictures of Ravana. Principal Mr DP Guleria appreciated the efforts of students and conveyed that this festival comes with an edifying message that good always triumphs over evil.

Tiny tots of BCM Kindergarten 32 A reveled in the rhythmic wonders of Rhymes as they enthusiastically participated in the Rhyme Recitation Competition organized for the students of nursery. It was indeed a contest which unfurled the confidence & elocution of the tiny tots who effervesced with pride while reciting rhymes. The children looked cute as rippled and swayed in accordance with the musical tune of their respective poem. The participants were judged on the basis of selection of rhymes ,voice modulations, clarity, action and confidence. The winners from each section were given certificates by the Headmistress of the school.

To hone the articulatory skills and to instill confidence in the little BCMites a Show & Tell Competition was organized for the students of LKG & UKG in BCM Kindergarten Sec.32 A, Chandigarh road. Kids astonished the audience comprising of parents of the participants and teachers with their excellent performance. In this competition kids spoke on different topics like GST, Child labour, Solar system, Healthy food, National flag etc. They described the objects used as a prop with a lot of confidence, facial expressions & voice modulations. Winners were given the trophies & books were given to the participants as souvenirs.

To teach students a lesson of self dependence Lemonade Making Activity was organized for the U.K.G and L.K.G class on September 9 & 16 ,2017 in B.C.M kindergarten Sec-32 A. The students had a real fun while making lemonade. They enjoyed squeezing sprinkling and stirring in the company of their respective teacher. Sharing & sipping self made lemonade in the company of their friends was not short of a feast for the tiny tots.

In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks- Muir With the motive to generate love for nature in the tender minds and sensitize them towards the beauties of nature ‘A Nature Walk’ was planned for the kids of LKG class in BCM kindergarten on September 12th & 13h. The school gardener helped the children in planting different saplings. The teachers not only acquainted the young ones with names of varied flowers and plants but also familiarized them with the different parts of plants in the school garden. They also enjoyed watching different shapes of clouds. Children really enjoyed learning varied lessons in the lap of nature.

BCM Kindergarten, Sec. 32-A, celebrated Hindi Diwas to instilling love for the mother tongue in the hearts of little BCMites for the Hindi language. The special morning assembly was conducted where the kids recited poems in the mother tongue. The teachers told the importance of mother tongue to the kids in their respective classrooms.

Children exhibited their artistic skills and creativity in the Greeting Card Making activity organized for the UKG students. Students used different colours, drawings, stones and stickers to beautify their creations. The students dedicated these cards to their teachers. The efforts of the children were highly appreciated by their respective teachers.

5th September is the birth anniversary of a great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan , who was a staunch believer of education, & was a well-known diplomat , scholar President of India and above all a teacher. In India 5th September is celebrated as the Teacher’s Day as a mark of the tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the society. To celebrate the Teacher’s Day Oration on ‘My Ideal Teacher’ activity was organized for the classes VI to VIII. The students from classes VI to VIII expressed their heartfelt euphoria by participating in oration. The students participated with full enthusiasm & glee in all the activities. The School Principal, Mr. D.P.Guleria said, “Teachers are the real shapers of the future building blocks of the country .They shape up the student’s life.”

Teachers play a major role in making their students responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human beings. Teacher’s day is celebrated to show our acknowledgement and recognition to the hard work put in by teachers towards development.
To mark the importance of the day a greeting card making and an Article writing (My Ideal Teacher) competition were conducted in classes I to III and IV – V respectively. The students showcased their talent through beautiful cards and thoughtful articles.
