BCM School, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana, celebrated ‘Techno Fest – An Enlightened Vision’ on October 14–15 to mark the 95th birth anniversary of the former President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the “Missile Man of India” and a visionary scientist. The two-day carnival showcased innovation, creativity, and the spirit of scientific inquiry through seven inter-school competitions — Declamation Contest, Science Expo, Robothon, Science Quiz, Pymath Challenge, Kalam Chronicles and Teenpreneurship — designed to inspire young minds toward technological advancement and nation-building. A whopping number of 300 students from 24 leading schools of the region participated and tested their mettle. The event commenced with an impressive Guard of Honour at Gate No. 1, followed by the visit to the Science Expo and Robothon, where students displayed cutting-edge models and projects. The Welcome Greetings and Address by the Principal, Mr. D.P. Guleria, set the tone for an inspiring celebration dedicated to Dr. Kalam’s ideals of knowledge and innovation. A touching video on the Life of Dr. Kalam reminded everyone of his contributions to science and education. The program featured Glimpses of Events and an experience-sharing session by the participants, highlighting the enthusiasm and creativity that marked the competitions. A thought-provoking play captured Dr. Kalam’s journey from a humble background to becoming India’s most beloved scientist and President. Mr. Ashok Oswal, Managing Director of Oswal Enterprise, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Sh. Suresh Chandra Munjal, Trustee of BCM Foundation, attended as the Guest of Honour. In their addresses, both lauded the students for their innovative approach and emphasized the need to imbibe scientific temper with moral values. The ceremony concluded with the Prize Distribution, recognizing the best talents among the participating schools, followed by the Vote of Thanks and rendition of the National Anthem.
