Earth Day, April 22, 2026, was celebrated with enthusiasm at BCM School Chandigarh Road. Students of BCM School participated in a special assembly and observed the day as Blue Day, dressed in blue attire. Activities included tearing, crushing, and pasting paper to create the Earth, sponge painting to make trees, and drawing “Save Earth” posters.
A pledge was taken to use energy resources responsibly, followed by discussions and a video on waste segregation and the use of three bins. A “Best Out of Waste” activity reinforced the concept of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.
Poster Making and Slogan Writing activities were conducted under the themes “From Awareness to Action – Celebrating Earth Day with Creativity and Responsibility” and “Our Power, Our Planet.” Students created posters on environmental themes and used old delivery bags as canvases to promote upcycling. The programme also included an Earth Day Oath, along with a video and PPT presentation on plastic pollution and individual responsibility.
Principal Mr. DP Guleria appreciated the efforts and emphasized the importance of developing environmental awareness from an early age.
